Level Class Practice Outfits

Everything is here for the Level Class practice outfits. I was going to put them together and hand them out this week, however it will be crazy at the studio with the Halloween Parties and all so we will give them out next week at class. Once you get them please do the following:
1. Make sure your have received all of the pieces that you ordered.
2. Try on ALL of the pieces and make sure they all fit accordingly. If there are any problems please let me know immediately so we can correct them. Please understand I will do my best to be accomodating, but if you need a different size than what you ordered I cannot return the wrong size item and you will need to pay for the correct size.
3. If your pants need altering in the length please get that taken care of very soon so we do not have dancers tripping while dancing!
4. Take good care of these and wash them by themselves and line dry! They will last and look much nicer throughout the year!
5. Wear them every week to class for the remainder of the year--remember I have that disorder of being obsessive compulsive! HA HA!

If you have any questions please let me or your instructor know!

WE WON THE PARADE!

Way to go girls--you are the winners of the Dance Division of the Eastern Idaho State Fair Parade. Ya know it doesn't sound like a whole lot, but to us we are thrilled. I was so proud of our dancers , "riders", and parents for withstanding the heat! I was not prepared for it to be that hot but we prevailed. I was also not prepared for the generator to overheat causing the music issue for the last block, but those dancers were so professional! They watched me and followed the directions they were given--you tell me where you can find girls that disciplined to snap to attention and freeze! The girls all looked adorable and you parents do a great job at getting them to look that way! I was impressed that during our parade practices everyone was ON TIME EVERY TIME! We have a committed group of dancers and they are wonderful to work with. I can tell out Beginning and Junior girls are ready to get dancing and so am I. I asked Bubba since we finally won the parade does that mean we don't have to do it again!? He laughed and said knowing you--it ain't over! Stay tuned for Micha's pictures of the parade and we will see you next week when we start classes!

Here is Our Number!

I hope all of you are excited for the parade! I just got the information that we are number 30 in the line up (so much for being at the beginning).

ALL DANCERS must arrive NO LATER than 10:00 am. We will be located in front of the Blackfoot High School by Willis Street. Look for army trucks and that would be us. It will be on the same side of the street as the seminary building.

PLEASE allow for plenty of time to get to this location since they block off streets and it gets a little tricky.

Dancers who are riding the float may wear anything you choose in the colors of Red, White and Blue. Please try to incorporate all 3 colors and make it clean and neat. The hair is pictured below--please refer to your note that was sent home with your practice outfit for specific details. Dancers who have short hair must follow the instructions but only put up the sides of the hair (still slicked and on top of the head) and curl all of the remaining hair as well. I want it tightly curled in ringlets and smoothly slicked. You can add whatever hair accessories you choose. If you have questions please call me.

You can put a little make up on your child as well! Glitter is fun, lip stick and cheek color are nice as well.

Make sure you look professional and ready to wave proud!

Dancers will need to be picked up at the end of the parade (Alice Street--but sometimes we have to go a little further so we can turn off the route). We will not transport anyone after the parade route is done. Please make sure someone is there for your child to jump off the float and be taken to their families. The last thing we need is adorable lost dancers!

Last , but not least, does anyone have a QUIET generator? If you do please let me know--I need to round up 3 of them! The Honda generators are more quiet than others and we need the least amount of noise! Thanks so much!

Parade Schedule Change

Well, on Monday Varsity and Elite had parade practice at 4:00. To keep a long story short, IT WAS BRUTALLY HOT! Not only was it hot to those standing in the heat, you can only imagine how hot it was for those DANCING in the heat. I felt like a horrible teacher, however they do need to get used to dancing in the heat. We were not able to have our dancers up to par and did not get the cleaning done on the routine that was necessary! For those of you reading this do not forget that this Thursday we are practicing from 5-8 instead of 5-7. I thought I would find it in my heart to allow these girls to practice when it is not so hot and then on Monday throw them back into the fire! We will still meet and pick up at the Blackfoot Seminary Building. Just a heads up, we may change the schedule slightly for next week depending on how things look on Thursday! That note will come home with the girls! WISH US LUCK--Junior and Beginning you should be so glad you are riding the float!

Ross Park Opening Social

The year has finally began and we started things off with a bang at Ross Park! Our team this year has 99 members ranging in age from 5-18. You can only imagine what a task it was coming up with an idea for our Opening Social for that many kids with such a wide age span. Ross Park was definately the best answer! We took two buses down to the park where we spent the day swimming, sun bathing, laughing and don't forget eating. For lunch we ordered 25 pizzas that were devoured in no time--I know we are dancers but we have heathly appetites. When we left the park the bus driver said "I've taken a lot of dance teams around, but yours has the most well behaved girls I have seen." A lady in the park said "how do you get all those girls to listen so well to you--are they afraid?" It was quite the site when the announcer said "All Downtown Dance Studio members please leave the pool and head to the buses." Pretty soon they all started coming out of the woodwork like an army of ants and when we left the park seemed pretty empty. We had a great ride home and it was fun to see all of the parents waiting--I am sure my neighbors thought I was having a wedding at my house or something. I hope you enjoy the pictures (sorry Micha I am not as good as you) but you can see how fun it was. This year we have a lot of girls with a lot of personality and excitement. I am very anxious to start working with them!

Pictures of the 2007-2008 Season

Check out these girls!

Welcome to our Studio

We are so excited to enter our studio into the "blogging" world! We are located in Blackfoot, Idaho and have been around 5 years. The studio has 270 dancers currently enrolled and for our small community of 12,000 that is a big studio. We are proud to represent our community with talented dancers and a positive program for our children. We have a competitive showteam that travels around attending competitions in Idaho and Utah. We have performed very well and recieved top honors for our hard work and great dances. It is so fun to work with these dancers--this year we have 99 members on our Dancers Company Competitive Showteam. I am not sure if I am insane now, but I know I will be by the end of the year! Enjoy the photos of our last season and look out for more exciting news, developments, and fun photos!
